Vice Minister of Science and Technology on COVID-19 Prevention and Control Tasks

       In order to implement the important directive spirit of Vice Premier Sun Chunlan on epidemic prevention and control, Zhang Yudong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, led Wu Yuanbin, Director of the Department of Science and Technology for Social Development and other four people to our province from October 14 to 15 to carry out a special investigation on COVID-19 vaccine, deep UV photoelectron COVID-19 instant killing technology and application and other scientific research breakthroughs. Chen Qiuli, Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, accompanied the entire research process.

　　On the morning of October 15th, Vice Minister Zhang Yudong and his delegation, accompanied by President Zhang Rong of Xiamen University and Director Kong Shuguang of Xiamen Science and Technology Bureau, conducted research at the National Engineering Technology Center for Infectious Disease Diagnostic Reagents and Vaccines of Xiamen University, and had discussions and exchanges with Xiamen University researchers. The meeting was chaired by President Zhang Rong of Xiamen University.

　　At the research symposium, Director Chen Qiuli and Director Kong Shuguang respectively reported on the scientific and technological innovation, development of the biopharmaceutical industry, and research and development of epidemic prevention and control in Fujian Province and Xiamen City. Professor Xia Ningshao, Professor Cai Duanjun and Professor Li Jianfeng of Xiamen University respectively reported the research and development progress of nasal spray influenza virus vector COVID-19 vaccine, deep ultraviolet photoelectron COVID-19 instant killing technology and application, and the research situation of Raman spectrum rapid virus detection technology.

　　Vice Minister Zhang Yudong listened to the report in detail and fully affirmed Fujian Province's vigorous promotion of scientific research and development in epidemic prevention and control. He pointed out that China attached great importance to the research and development of COVID-19 vaccine, laid out five technical routes, carried out research and development in a standardized and orderly manner, and achieved positive results. Fujian Province, Xiamen City, and Xiamen University should further improve the full chain collaborative development mechanism that integrates basic research, applied research, and achievement transformation, integrate multiple forces, accelerate scientific research and development progress, and provide strong technological support for winning the battle against epidemic prevention and control. We should pay attention to the development of the traditional medicine system, strengthen the planning of the biopharmaceutical industry, establish industry technology alliances, jointly plan to build major scientific research platforms, coordinate the tackling of key core technologies, cultivate scientific and technological innovation talents, build the best innovation ecology, continuously stimulate innovation vitality, effectively promote the integrated development of scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation, and make new contributions to China's biopharmaceutical industry and people's life and health。

　　In the afternoon of the same day, accompanied by Chen Qiuli, Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Wu Xiande, Mayor of Fuzhou, Vice Minister Zhang Yudong and his delegation rushed to Fuzhou Cold Chain Logistics Supervision Centralized Warehouse to investigate and guide the scientific research work of cold chain logistics disinfection and sterilization.

　　Vice Minister Zhang Yudong inspected the Fuzhou cold chain logistics supervision centralized warehouse operation area on the spot, listened to the introduction of the Fuzhou supervision warehouse special shift and the relevant responsible persons of Fuxia Technology Company on the operation and management of the supervision warehouse and the scientific research achievements, experiments and application examples of the "UV photocatalysis compound killing machine", and discussed with the relevant responsible persons of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, Fuzhou Municipal Government, Mawei District Government and the scientific research personnel of Fuxia Company on further strengthening the scientific research and epidemic prevention and control work of cold chain logistics disinfection and sterilization.

　　Zhang Yudong stressed that doing a good job in the prevention and control of cold chain logistics epidemic disinfection and sterilization is of great significance to the detailed implementation of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council's decision-making and deployment on the normalization of epidemic prevention and control and the protection of people's lives and health. At present, the global COVID-19 epidemic situation is still severe and complex. We hope that the Science and Technology Department of Fujian Province and the relevant departments of Fuzhou City (District) will improve their work measures, actively create conditions, further accelerate the research, experiment and application of cold chain logistics epidemic prevention and control and scientific research achievements, improve the evaluation system and work plan of scientific research achievements, continue to promote the physical disinfection and sterilization technology and scientific research achievements of epidemic prevention and control to be included in the national catalog of epidemic prevention and control, and contribute to the national epidemic prevention and control programs and scientific research in Fujian.
