The open channel UV‑C wastewater disinfection system is suitable for open wastewater drainage channels. It adopts low‑pressure, high‑intensity mercury lamps with a modular rack structure, combined with non‑powered water level control and automatic mechanical cleaning, achieving large flow, low head loss, and continuous, stable UV disinfection.
System Structure & Working Principle

Lamps are installed directly on modular racks, which are submerged in the water flow of the open channel.
Low‑pressure mercury lamps, single wavelength (254 nm), high efficiency, low power consumption.
Single lamp power: 155 W – 320 W, effective UV output ≥40%.
Rated lamp life: >12,000 hours, maximum >16,000 hours.
Modular Rack Design
Racks can be independently hoisted for easy maintenance and replacement.
Lamps and ballasts are separated (ballasts are located in independent cabinets); lamp replacement does not require hoisting the rack.
Protection rating: IP68 (lamps are multiply sealed inside quartz sleeves).
Automatic Mechanical Cleaning System
In open channel environments, wastewater tends to foul the sleeve surface, affecting UV transmittance. Fusshia Technology uses a compressed‑air‑driven cleaning system:
Drive method: Compressed air (no electrical risk, more reliable and environmentally friendly).
Cleaning ring material: UV‑resistant EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber.
Contact method: Soft contact to avoid lamp breakage from rigid friction.
Cleaning modes:
Automatic physical cleaning (programmable interval)
